The Department of Physics-Chemistry of the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo offers the first two years of the seven engineering programs offered at the UPRM to facilitate access to engineering studies for students from the northern and central areas of Puerto Rico.
Objectives
- To promote access to engineering programs for students living in the northern and central areas of Puerto Rico.
- To effectively use the human, physical, and fiscal resources of the UPR through a systemic integration that leads to the achievement of the students’ goals and objectives.
- To ensure that the student has a place at the UPRM in the engineering program to which he or she is admitted.
- To guarantee that every student who meets the requirements established in this articulation agreement can transfer to the UPRM at no additional cost.
Important Information
- Students are admitted to UPRA with the IGS established by the UPRM.
- The articulation agreement stipulates that the student must complete the curriculum of the first two years of the engineering program to which he was admitted (48 credits) before transferring to the UPRA.
- The courses at UPRA are offered with the same code, syllabus and textbook as the UPRA.
- The engineering courses are offered by the UPRA engineering faculty.
