This past weekend, Professor Angel Acosta was the special guest lecturer for the Caribbean Geology and Ecology course at James Madison University, led by Dr. Angel García and Dr. Kelsey Reider. During their visit, the students explored various locations in our northern karst region, including Cueva del Indio (Arecibo), Playa Las Marias (Manatí), Bosque Guajataca (Isabela/Quebradillas), and Bosque Rio Abajo (Arecibo). The purpose of the visit was to provide them with firsthand experience of the diverse ecosystems within our karst landscape and to discuss these characteristics with them.
